Captain James "Jamie" Hook

If I am a villain, it's because Peter made me one, because Peter needs to be the shining sun that all the world turns around. Peter needed to be a hero, so somebody needed to be a villain.

Once I was young, and young forever and always, until I wasn't. Once I loved a boy called Peter Pan.
Peter will tell you that this story isn't the truth, but Peter lies. I loved him, we all loved him, but he lies, for Peter wants always to be that shining sun that we all revolve around. He'll do anything to be that sun.

Peter will say I'm a villain, that I wronged him, that I never was his friend. But I told you already. Peter lies.

BACKGROUND

Jamie, as he was called for centuries, is much more than 'Captain Hook', more than a caricature with a twirled mustasche and a wicked hook. Throw away 'Eton' and the rest of the history you think you know: Jamie remembers very little of his life outside of Neverland, only that he had a wonderful mother and a rather abusive father, and then one day he was whisked away by a boy whose smiles lit up his world, who was magic in every way.

Jamie was the first of what would come to be known as the Lost Boys. More than that, he was Peter's favorite, the one who survived as pirates and crocodiles and mermaids and Many-Eyed beasts tore the others away through the centuries. None of the losses ever seemed to phase Peter, who never saw the boys as anything more than playmates, things to amuse him, or those he could boss about. He loved their hero worship but not them. No, it was Jamie who loved the boys, who looked after them, who cared for their wounds, watched after them when they were sick, taught them to fight, taught them to be hunt, to cook, to build.

He's also the one who buried them with their favorite toys and weapons.

Until one day, there was a small child that Peter brought back to the island, a little boy named Charlie who was too young to play and fight. Jamie protected him, and that favoritism made Peter feel jealous that someone else was taking up his time and attention. Which is when everything went to hell...

PERSONALITY

On the surface, Jamie is a somewhat gruff pragmatist with a strategic mind who speaks bluntly but carefully and doesn't spend much time with pretentiousness or unnecessary things. He can be manipulative when manipulation is the easiest, safest, and least harmful course, but he's just as willing to take out his knives or a sword and do things the hard way. Mindful and thoughtful, he tends to consider things carefully before committing to them but that doesn't mean he won't take risks. They're just well-considered risks. Brave, resourceful, and resilient, he is very worn down by the centuries and by everything that is his current situation re: Neverland, but he hasn't lost any of what makes him who he is.

He is resolved. And he will find a way. A way to stop the endless cycle of death and destruction that fuels Neverland and Peter's perpetual boyhood.

ABILITIES

Jamie is only a normal human... in most respects. He's been alive for centuries upon centuries, though. And he's been fighting almost all of them. Fighting, scavenging, hunting, surviving in the wilderness, in Neverland. Before he grew up, he was bar none the best of the fighters among the Lost Boys, including against Peter. Now that he's grown up, he's even nastier. He does have a hook for a hand, but that doesn't let him stop him from being entirely capable.

That said, he does have one advantage: he can't die. He's cursed to never leave Neverland and his life is tied to the island, and to Peter, perpetually restored from even the most terrible of wounds so that Peter can keep fighting him. Peter won't let him go, but he's determined to find a way to kill Peter and escape. So far, no good.

EXTRA

I play Jamie as bi given yes, he fell in love with Sal but he was also initially in love with Peter.
